Get ready for it. More lack of love on a national level for the Arizona Cardinals. This time it comes from SBNation.com, where Kenneth Arthur does the opposite of power rankings. He does un-power rankings, where the top team is the worst, much like the NFL Draft, and he has the Arizona Cardinals third on that list, moving up a spot from the previous list.
Why consider them the third worst team before ever playing a down? It is the schedule, he writes.
I was almost inclined to "downgrade" the Cardinals today but then I took another look at their schedule. It's Card to believe they'd get more than four wins this year, not just because they play in the all-of-a-sudden brutal NFC West.
In the first half of the season, the Cardinals play the Rams, Lions, Saints, Buccaneers, Panthers, 49ers, Seahawks and Falcons. Arizona starts the second half of the year against the Texans.
Now, as for the whole not winning more than four wins, along with the terrible pun, that almost seems ridiculous. The 2012 Cardinals won five games and were a disaster at quarterback.
Carson Palmer is not a disaster at quarterback. You can pencil in his completing more than 60 percent of his passes, throwing for more touchdowns than interceptions and at least 3000 yards in the air.
If that doesn't at least mean that the Cards can get at least one more win than last year, then I give up.
Then again, while this sort of thing makes a Cardinals fan's blood boil, it really means nothing. Training camp hasn't even begun, so...no need for torches and pitchforks...yet.
