As a participant on this blog I throw out a lot of stuff on the wall and see what sticks. And as most of you can tell, the majority of it is fecal matter, but surprisingly sometimes, it adheres fairly well. (Unless it hits the fan, then it comes across as a Bleacher Report article.) It's hit and miss sometimes, you just never know.
And today I felt compelled to write another "(blank) what we knew then, what we know now" post (maybe Dan Williams, who's going to have a tough road to hoe unless he can be more than a two-down player?), but after two wildfires in my direct eyesight (Not close enough to be threatened, so don't want to over-dramatize.) including the loss of 19 young souls, I feel the need to jump aboard a soapbox once again.
Secondly, even if an atheist, agnostic or just a Niner fan, please send at least thoughts away to the families that lost their fathers, sons, friends.. surely some of them were Arizona Cardinal fans.
And lastly, appreciate the ones you love a little more. Give a hug to your kids a little more tightly tonight, a longer more meaningful kiss to your spouse, surprise your parents with a call from you, an extra pat for your dog. Not trying to be maudlin, but... you just never know.
And now I'm inching down the soapbox -- no smart ass closing from me.
Sometimes, you just never know.
