Fantasy football articles are starting pop up with more regularity, Such is the case if you are an ESPN Insider subscriber. Nathan Jahnke of Pro Football Focus wrote an ESPN Insider article, focusing on 10 players that he believes will be rising stars in snap counts for fantasy GMs in 2013.
When Floyd was drafted, Cardinals fans wanted him to be a day one starter and instantly become a force opposite Larry Fitzgerald. It took a little more time than that, as Floyd started the year as a backup, but by the end of the season he started fulfilling expectations. As the season went on, Floyd saw his snaps increase, and with those increased snaps he saw more targets, which led to more catches. He also caught a higher percentage of passes thrown his way for a higher yards per catch. Going into 2013 the Cardinals have a much better quarterback in Carson Palmer, which should only help Floyd. Chances are he won't get drafted until the later rounds of your draft, so if you can pick him in a middle/late round, you will have a sleeper WR3 you will be happy with.
This is another Cardinals receiver who should greatly benefit from having Carson Palmer on the roster. As the season went on, he went from a part-time role to the Cardinals' full-time receiving tight end. By the end of the season he saw his pass routes and targets increase a lot even though it didn't result in a huge increase in yards. From Week 5 on, he forced 12 missed tackles -- Tony Gonzalez was the only tight end to have more players miss tackles on him during the entire season. The only fullback on the roster from last year -- Anthony Sherman -- is gone, which means more two tight end sets this season. Because of how many targets Housler is likely to receive, he should make for a decent TE2.
This should come as no surprise to Cardinals fans. Messages that have been loud and clear this offseason include: Larry Fitzgerald is going to bounce back, Rob Housler is about to have a huge year and Michael Floyd is having a great offseason.
For those fantasy players out there that like to have Cardinals on their team, Housler and Floyd would be two very good pickups.
