brianmurphy.jmj Gave me the idea to look at players who are still available based on our (the fanbase) perception of what the team need. For example, tight end, safety, and a pass rusher are all, what we believe, positions of need for the Cardinals.
According to ESPN Boston, Clark is a likely candidate to be signed by the Patriots to replace the released Aaron Hernandez. I doubt we make a move on him however based solely on the fact that he was apart of the purge during the Chuck Pagano and Bruce Arians regime change in 2012.
He's drawing interest from the Eagles, although whether or not they pull the trigger on him is unclear. Nothing is close, and Shockey could still have a few seasons left in the tank.
Only reason Cooley found his way back into Washington, was based on the fact that Fred Davis popped his Achilles. I'm shocked no one has shown interest in him.
The release was shocking... But what was more shocking was that he hasn't found a team yet. Perhaps he's landed a huge acting gig and wants to drop football... I doubt that. It just baffles me that he's team-less.
He's older... Yes, but he's honestly the best pass rusher still on the market. 10 sacks alone last year and has drawn limited interest outside of the Falcons. He could be a good depth addition to our roster. Move Dockett inside on select plays, and have both Campbell and Abraham rush the tackles... That's a scary pass rush.
There's honestly very little young talent out there, as you'd expect. But there are some dangerous guys who are in the twilight of their careers that can still produce.
Are there any other guys you would look at? Name 'em down in the comments below!
So which of these guys would you rather target in free agency, if you needed to?
