Arizona Cardinals injury update: Williams might not play, WRs back in practice

Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

How does the injury situation look for the team as they prepare for the Dallas Cowboys?

In the aftermath of the preseason game the Arizona Cardinals played on Friday, it appears that they are getting a little healthier collectively.

After the game, a pair of receivers that sat out declared themselves ready to go on Twitter:

They will need to get on the field if they hope to find a way onto the roster.

Head coach Bruce Arians also commented on other player injuries (via azcardinals.com), both suffered and recovering.

The one injury that came as a result of the game was safety and special teams player Jonathon Amaya. He sprained his knee and will be out a couple of days.

The running back position is getting better, but Ryan Williams apparently had some setback. Williams said last week that he would certainly play on Saturday against the Dallas Cowboys, but Arians did not sound optimistic. "I don't know if he'll play this week," he said on Sunday after practice.

Rashard Mendenhall is still battling knee soreness and Andre Ellington is being brought back slowly with his neck injury. It is not serious, though.

Guard Daryn Colledge is close to coming back from a nerve issue in his leg, but he will have to battle Paul Fanaika for the job at right guard.

There is nothing new on Dan Williams, Jeff King, Kory Sperry or any of the other players that have been out.
