Williams, the team's 2011 second round draft pick, has suffered from durability issues. After tearing his patella tendon in his first preseason, he lost his 2011 season. In 2012, he played only five games before being placed on injured reserve because of a shoulder injury.
He recovered and participated in all offseason workouts, but had knee pain during training camp, causing him to lose two weeks of practice. He finally got back to practice and played Saturday night, carrying the ball twice for 10 yards and catching the ball once for six yards.
Some believe that if he is not traded now that he will be let go by Tuesday's cuts. What would make more sense would be to wait until final cuts to either let him go or trade him because they can give him a ton of carries in Denver on Thursday.
Either way, it appears that Williams is about to see his final days as a member of the Cardinals.
