Larry Fitzgerald injury: Receiver can't make it through entire game

The team still won despite his absence late.

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald was questionable coming into Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions with a hamstring injury. He started the game and had an early big play -- a 22-yard reception in the first quarter.

He was unable, though, to finish the game, as he needed to come out and was seen on the sideline with his leg wrapped.

He finished the game with two catches for 33 yards.

When asked after the game if he was even at 80 percent heading into the game, he said clearly he was not. "I would've been good if I was 80 percent," said Fitzgerald to reporters (via ESPN).

He was unable to get separation or run his routes the way he is accustomed to doing.

His head coach, Bruce Arian, said that Fitz "gutted it out" and that he was proud of him for playing through much of the pain and discomfort.

Kerry Taylor came in to replace Fitz and made an impact. he had three catches for 40 yards, which would combine with Fitz to equal five catches for 73 yards, something that resembles a Larry Fitzgerald night.

As for moving forward, we will have to wait and see. "We'll see how the hamstring is next week, but I don't think it's to bad," said Arians after the game. Fitz also believes he will be healthy for the game in New Orleans next week.
