Started with a game that came down to the wire, which unfortunately ended in a Cardinals loss.
Things I liked: Carson Palmer it was nice to see someone who can play QB taking snaps under center, he coughed the ball up and threw a boneheaded pick, but he had a great day for us. Mendenhall ran well for the most part and helped the offense on a couple of rather long drives, I'm sure the members of the defense that were here last year appreciate it more than anyone. Last but not least our WR's, Roberts should see a lot of favorable matchups with Floyd making ridiculous circus catches and Fitz being the elite player we all know he is. Last but not least the play calling, I LOVED how they called a fade route to Fitz in the end zone that Palmer overthrew then ran the same play a second time to make a statement. We also got to see the Honey Badger make some plays, I can't wait to see him slide into the starting spot at safety.
Things I disliked: Our defense, maybe I just grew spoiled with how sound Ray Horton had that side of the ball fine tuned last season but i feel this squad may be the achilles heel of the season. As a whole the performance was not terrible, but the Rams probably gained around 100 extra yards from missed or just plain sloppy tackling. I hope to see Minter join the line up sooner rather than later because quite frankly Brinkley is a total liability in the middle and Dansby doesn't have the speed to cover a TE. This particular issue should be fixed when Daryl Washington returns to his starting spot in the middle. Last but not least, the play of Levi Brown was frustrating yet again, before I crucify Brown this was his first start in over a year so hopefully we see him clean up his game in the coming weeks.
