With a break in the action I thought it might be a good time to share with Cardinals fans a bit of NFL team history.
As most fans know, the NFL started in 1920 - with the (already existing) Chicago Cardinals and the (newly formed) Decatur Staleys (soon to be renamed the Chicago Bears) being the only remaining charter teams.
During the 20's, 30's and 40's, many NFL teams came and went, like the Canton Bulldogs and Pottsville Maroons, as well as many who's names are best recognized as baseball team names (New York Yankees, Brooklyn Dodgers, Cincinnati Reds, etc).
To list all the NFL franchises that have ever existed would be very tedious as well as extremely convoluted. So what I have done is to list the current 32 NFL teams, and how (and when) they got to be who they are.
Hopefully, many of you will find something interesting here that you didn't know. Enjoy!
