hi, im Holeman1 and I am a major Arizona Cardinals fan and I will make a Depth Chart, Review and potential needs heading into the 2014 NFL season, lets get started:
DEPTH CHART (starters and noteworthy backups and fillers are included):
DE: Calais Campbell
ILB: Daryl Washington(I)
ILB: Kevin Minter
CB#1: Patrick Peterson
CB#2: Antonio Cromartie, Jarraud Powers
(I) = injury or other problems could take them out of season opener
Along the D-line we have a solid starting three for our 3-4 style offense, and while we have some decent starters we could use extra depth. as far as a long term view goes, we might need some talented defensive ends and tackles to be possible successors of Dockett and Campbell as they are getting on the older side of their careers.
our linebacker situation is a bit more obvious, we really have no starter caliber inside linebackers after Washington and Minter, and Wash could serve the front end of the season at home after his assault, so it would be a ideal to add some extra help in the draft or in the rear-end of free agency. right now we have some quality outside Linebackers, with John Abraham coming off a solid season and Acho coming back from a injury, however we may need some more depth since Abraham is 36, but right now we have enough depth to last a season without major problems there.
the Secondary got a solid boost by us signing Antonio Cromartie, and for right now we have a sufficient amount of solid CB's with us still retaining Powers. we will probably need to bring in a solid safety to ensure that we can have a lockdown secondary, we lack length at the position with Johnson and Jefferson being a bit small to guard TE's and big athletic WR's, we could turn to Ryan Clark of the Steelers but that possibility is dying by the day.
