Everyone and their uncle knows the Cards need a strong safety.
And since the need wasn't filled in the free agency period, chances are real prolific that it will be met in the upcoming draft. But whom?
The cliquish selection right now seem to be Louisville's Calvin Pryor, with the assumption that HaSean Clinton-Dix will be gone at Arizona's first round pick number 20 and that Washington State's Deone Buccannon and Jimmie Ward of Northern Illinois would be a reach.
But from what I've been reading some scouts are turned off by HHCD's being a Nick Saban-system player (ala Rashad Johnson) and that Pryor is too short for what the team is looking for and not disciplined enough.
What if, like I'm suggesting, Clinton-Dix falls? Should he be the pick? What if Pryor isn't what BASK is looking for? Wait to see if he falls to second round? Would Bucannon or Ward really be a reach if the team "falls in love" with the player? Some members of ROTB seem to really like Bucannon.
It's 25 days from now, you're playing the Steve Keim part and the Dolphins have just selected Zach Martin and you're on the clock....everyone including your father's brother realizes the importance of drafting a safety...
What do you do?
