Craig Loston

This guy would be a better fit hin Arizona's defense than Washington State Strong Saftey Deion Buchannon. Here are several reasons why I came to this conclusion:

1. He is a physical threat and is willing to play down TE in the box. Arizona I thought made a HUGE mistake in letting Adrian Wilson go for Yeramah Bell. When we lost that physical presence, it proved to be a signifcant weakness not only in the secondary, but the entire defensive unit. Remember when Bradford found Jared Cook in the first minutes of the season and would have ran all the way if not for a TD saving strip by Tyrann Mathieu. It proved to be a glaring hole in the Cardinal defense. Craig Loston brings playmaking hits that will change the tempo of the game, and he is a solid tackler that is willing to stand toe-to-toe with TE like Jared Cook and Vernon Davis.

2. The fact that he's a LSU product. Arizona already has 3 players from LSU starting on defense all of them played with each other in college. Craig Loston already has that chemistry with Patrick Peterson, Tyrann Mathieu, and Kevin Minter. Why not continue the same pattern? Tribute to Les Miles and his defensive coaching staff for putting together an amazing group of talent. I'm by no means an LSU fan, but I cannot recall a bad player that Les Miles allowed to enter the NFL. Craig Loston is a safe pick and will probably huge upside playing along players he is already familar with. LSU for me is the stamp of approval!

3. Not to knock on Washington State football team, but after Ryan Leaf, I really questioned that football program. Yes, I've seen the multiple highlight reels with SS Dieon Buchannon. I could also show you highlight reels of Ryan Leaf, and look how wonderful that turned out? But lets face it that Washington State football program is not that good, and has often times been suspect. We can say that Buchannon has more upside and will probably be better player than Loston, but reality is that Loston is simple a better fit no matter how you look at it.

Tell me what you think?
