Observations from 2 preseason games - desire your thoughts

After watching the first two preseason games I came away with a few observations that I am not seeing discussed and I was hoping to hear from some of you.

First, I think the running game will be fine. We are barely seeing the first team and Ellington. Also, there are some bright spots where we're gaining 7-10 yards a pop. I am confident the offense will be able to scheme to make those regular happenings once the season starts. In addition, as "bad" as we were last year with Mendenhall I noticed (wish someone could verify) we started running quick hitting straight ahead running plays and all of our guys were regularly ripping off lengthy runs. I think if we don't have success with the pulling guards you'll see more of the quicker runs.

second, we are not talking about left tackle and how awesome is that! That is one of the brightest points of the early preseason. Veldeheer is the real deal and will help put the O over the top. San Fran and Seattle have to be upset.

Third, Minter apparently hurt his pec on that first run play vs the texans where he shot through and arm tackled. It seems more serious then we thought? We brought Bishop in and to me he looked very fast and a pleasant surprise to me. Anyone else?

Tight ends are a concern based on the past but does anyone else think powers will slide to #2 cb and cromrartie cover the TE on big plays? I feel this is what we will do if we're having trouble.

Last at WR there is no way ?Jaron brown is not on the team and john brown is battling for #3. He was wide open again and we only saw him twice because they don't need to see more.

What do you guys think?

ps anyone get the honey badger shirt at target- it's awesome!
