Wednesday practice means the first injury report of the week. For the Cardinals, the list was not very long, although it did include several new injuries, but only one that kept a player out of practice. Detroit, though, had a very long list to report after a very physical loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Monday.
For Arizona, only receiver J.J. Nelson (shoulder) and tight end Darren Fells (hip) missed practice. Head coach Bruce Arians said both should be limited this on Thursday. He said Nelson is getting close to being able to play.
Everyone else on the list was limited. Arians made it sound like none of them would be in a position to miss on Sunday. That includes running back Andre Ellington who could have played last Sunday, according to Arians in his conference call with the Detroit media.
These are they who were limited on Wednesday:
CB Justin Bethel (foot)
S Chris Clemons (hamstring)
RB Andre Ellington (knee)
LB Alani Fua (hamstring)
S Rashad Johnson (hip)
OLB LaMarr Woodley (thigh)
DE Frostee Rucker (thigh)
The Lions had four players miss practice -- running back Joique Bell (ankle), tight end Eric Ebron (knee)linebacker Travis Lewis (ankle) and defensive tackle Halota Ngata (calf).
Limited were defensive end Ziggy Ansah (shoulder), safety James Ihedigbo (quad), punter Sam Martin (knee), cornerback Rasean Mathis (calf), tight end Brandon Pettigrew (hamstring) and guard Larry Warford (ankle).
The good news for the Lions is linebacker DeAndre Levy was a full participant in practice, coming back from a hip injury. Receiver Lance Moore and tackle Corey Robinson, both with ankle injuries, practiced fully as well.
