The Arizona Cardinals will begin OTAs (organized team activities) starting next week. Then comes mini-camp in June and then a break until training camp, which will begin in late July.
Thus far, aside from some limited offseason workouts and rookie mini-camp, there are a few players perhaps we should have on our radar.
After rookie camp, there were some young players who stood out to the coaching staff, according to reporter Kent Somers. Somers reported the team was pleased with what they saw out of their seven draft picks and there were some young free agents who stood out.
Undrafted rookie Jaxon Shipley made a good first impression. Undrafted rookie linebackers Alani Fua and Edwin Jackson looked good. Tight end Ted Bolser, a free agent signing back in January, stood out. Undrafted rookie running back Paul Lasike, a former rugby player, also was impressive.
Of course it is very early and they are only wearing shorts (Bruce Arians likes to call this time of year "playing soccer"), but hearing this gives fans some names to pay attention to as offseason work continues and some players to root for when training camp rolls around.
