NFL Network picks the Division Winners, going with the 49ers.

NFC West -- San Francisco. Had they made an attempt to get Donovan McNabb, I'd be even higher on the 49ers. Regardless, I believe they can win this division with Alex Smith at quarterback. They have assembled good young playmakers on both sides of the ball and have begun the vital step of getting them signed to long-term deals. Having Michael Crabtree for a full season will complement a sound running game with Frank Gore. Mike Singletary is molding the defense in his likeness. Arizona losing Kurt Warner to retirement changes everything, and I'm not sold on Matt Leinart. The Cardinals can't pound the ball on the ground like the 49ers, and they lost a lot of talent in a short period of time.

Cardinals ranked #13 in CBS Power Rankings.

It's Matt Leinart time. It better be. The Cardinals coaches think he can play. I do as well. But we'll see. Nearest NFC West team is the 49ers at #21 [bet they hate that], Seahawks are #25, and Rams on the bottom.

Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt has been impressed with what he’s seen from the Cards so far in minicamp -- which is a very good sign for quarterback Matt Leinart. The way Leinart plays will determine the team’s success in 2010, and Leinart seems to understand the level of expectations. Wednesday, he said, "People can say what they want about me, but I still haven't really proved anything yet. I haven't been out there, so I don't think you can make a fair judgment." Leinart is right, and he seems to be in the right mindset to embark on the challenges that await him. His view implies he does not feel the entitlement of being a first-round pick, which means he’s receptive to the coaching he is receiving. I am not sure if Leinart can be successful, but I do know he was never going to achieve any success until he changed his work habits, his feeling of entitlement and his commitment.

Yahoo Sports ranks the Cardinals as the 6th best wide receiving group in the NFL. "Losing Anquan Boldin hurts a lot and the TE spot is thin, but Larry Fitzgerald is a great anchor. Steve Breaston is better than people think and Early Doucet showed up big in the playoffs"

Why did McFadden have a bad year in Arizona?

I am not sure if any of you are interested, but I wrote an article about why McFadden had a bad year in AZ compared to his 2008 year in Pittsburgh. Stop by and check it out, offer up any comments if you disagree.

Cardinals' second round pick Daryl Washington graduated from TCU on Saturday. Looks like we won't be missing a top rookie for this year's OTAs. Beanie Wells missed time last offseason while finishing school. Source: http://blog.azcardinals.com/2010/05/09/washingtons-commencement/

The Cardinals signed fullback Charles Ali on Friday. Ali has spent time with the Browns and Ravens and was brought in after current fullback Reagan Mauia suffered an undisclosed injury.

Sounds like Boldin is fitting in well in Baltimore

Best of luck to him, hopefully he can help the win the AFC North [and beat the Stealers a couple of times for us].

Rookies who won't live up to the hype.

A few people the 49ers and Seahawks picked up [5] are on here too.

Oh no.... MORE JAMARCUS TO ARIZONA TALK!!!!

Per Urbans blog. – Perhaps the most stunning news of the day when it comes to this team. According to Darren Rovell, Bodog has released odds on where jettisoned quarterback JaMarcus Russell will land now that the Raiders dumped him. Bodog’s most likely landing spot, at 3-to-1 odds? The Cardinals. To which I say, what?!?!? If the Cardinals aren’t going to chase Marc Bulger, who makes so much more sense considering the circumstances, why the heck would they take a flyer on the overweight, massively underachieving, unmotivated-because-of-all-his-money Russell? Bodog has Russell being a 10-to-1 shot to go to the CFL. Right now, I think I’d swap the Cards and the CFL’s odds (although the Cards’ odds should be a much longer shot, really. Some NFL team will give Russell a chance. But not the Cards).
