Boldin May Miss Crucial Game Sunday

In what might be the most important game of the season, Arizona can't be sure Anquan Boldin will be ready to play after he was injured in Sunday's victory over the Cleveland Browns. The injury has since been classified as a dislocated toe.

In fact, the severity of the injury is apparently enough to call into question whether he'll play again this season.

Noooooo!

Boldin also appears to have hip troubles.

Suddenly Arizona's receiving corps lacks necessary depth, especially after Larry Fitzgerald shocked fans by sitting out Sunday's game with a groin injury. Coach Whisenhunt hasn't made it clear either player will be ready for action Sunday and missing both could be catastrophic and it will place greater emphasis on the running game and Edgerrin James, something that has not been consistent this season.

Said Whisenhunt of Fitzgerald:

"I was optimistic that he would play in the game, and he didn’t," Whisenhunt said. "I hope he’ll be able to go" on Sunday.

And of Boldin's status:

"The only thing that’s going to get that better is rest."

We should learn more of Boldin's status Wednesday. Hopefully he's healthy enough to make a return soon. A win Sunday would mean a sweep against the Seahawks and the Cardinals would move within one game of the division leaders.
