Cardinals @ Ravens preview, part one

The Cardinals face a tough matchup this weekend when they travel to Baltimore to take on Brian Billick's squad. Though they haven't been especially powerful this season, the Ravens are still a force to be reckoned with and it won't be easy putting up points against that defense.

That said, Arizona isn't walking into a completely bleak situations. The team is coming together and growing up -- but with that comes growing pains. Week one really showcased the weaknesses of the team while last week's victory over Seattle showed that Whisenhunt has things under control.

Edgerrin James tore it up last week and Leinart had a much-improved showing. Even outspoken Ray Lewis has good things to say about the one we call "Edge."

"Oh, Edge is looking like he's getting back to his old Edge," Lewis said Wednesday. "He's always been a patient ball carrier. Now, he looks like he's more patient. He's finding his gaps.

"We spoke about it in a meeting (Wednesday) - we've all got to come play football against him because he's one of the premier top backs in the league right now."

It's tough to deny those comments. James' numbers are looking good -- his 4.4 ypc average especially -- and he broke 100 yards last week. It took him until the 12th week of the season last year to break that barrier in a single game. In fact, he ranks 5th in the league at this point in rushing yardage totals, with 220.

He'll play a big role in the outcome of Sunday's game. If he can grind out serious yardage it will open things up for Leinart. But if he sputters it could be a long day.
