Arizona Cardinals Could Be Short-Handed Without Anquan Boldin and/or J.J. Arrington

The injury report for the Arizona Cardinals didn't change much yesterday but the outlook of a couple of players seems to have taken a turn for the worse. Anquan Boldin, J.J. Arrington and Travis LaBoy sat out of practice for the second consecutive day but Coach Whisenhunt admitted yesterday that Boldin and Arrington could miss Sunday's contest with the Patriots. He said that they would certainly play if they are 'able' to but considering all of the circumstances, they have to be smart:

"Obviously in this type of situation, with a (playoff) game two weeks away, you want to make sure you have as many of your guys available for that game," Whisenhunt said. "That has to take priority....If this was a game that for us meant to get into the playoffs, it would be a completely different scenario. We are certainly aware of that."

That would certainly be a blow to a Cardinals offense that's struggled to put points on the board recently, but being full strength in the playoffs takes precendence. I do wonder though why LaBoy's name wasn't thrown in with Q and JJ. He's been slowed by several different injuries all season and it seems like he would greatly benefit from a week of rest. I'd imagine we'll hear more about his status sometime today though.

The rest of the Cardinals injury report includes Early Doucet (limited), Pago Togafu (limited), Sean Morey (limited) and Adrian Wilson (limited) but all of them are expected to play. Doucet's status will be very important if Boldin does sit out. The Patriots have a laundry list of players on thier report including Matt Light (DNP), Tedy Bruschi (DNP), Ellis Hobbs (limited), Ty Warren (limited) and Vince Wilfork (limited) among others.
