Arizona Cardinals Fly Around the NFC West: Trades, Cut and Rumors...Oh My!!

It's been a couple of weeks since we checked in with the rest of our NFC West division, but the Arizona Cardinals haven't been the only team making news. Considering though that the Rams, Seahawks and Niners each hold top 10 picks in next month's draft, there is certainly plenty of buzz sorrounding them.

  • Seattle Seahawks: The Hawks made a huge move over the weekend when they traded Julian Peterson to Detriot for Cory Redding and a fifth round pick. Peterson's unique ability to get to the quarterback will be missed but there's still hope that this trade could be for the best. The trade leaves a hole at linebacker (Let the Aaron Curry speculation begin), but as any Hawk fan will tell you they've also got a big need at safety (here, here and here), even it if takes the fourth overall pick .
  • San Francisco 49ers: Niners' talk over the past couple of weeks has seemed to focus on what to do at quarterback. Alex Smith has restructed his contract but Shaun Hill is still expected to be the starter. They also signed Damon Huard and have been linked to rumors about Jay Cutler as well as constant discussion on whether or not they'll target Matt Sanchez with the 10th overall pick.
  • St. Louis Rams: The biggest news out of St. Loius in the past couple of weeks has been the release of two long time Rams Torry Holt and Orlando Pace. The Rams are obviously headed in a new direction and it's no surprise that their draft focus seems to be on either Micheal Crabtree or a premier left tackle.
