2009 NFL Draft: Round One Open Thread

New, comments

Welcome to Revenge of the Birds!  Today is most highly anticipated day of the NFL off-season with the first two rounds of the NFL Draft.  The Arizona Cardinals find themselves in unusual territory with a late pick in the first round, the latest they've picked since #22 in the glory days of the '70's. The Cardinals have many needs that we have discussed since the Combine in Indianapolis.  Today all our speculation and gut feelings will see fruitition when the Cardinals finally select the 31st overall pick in the late afternoon.  Until that time there are plenty of other storylines to follow with the Cardinals (will Boldin be traded?) and the rest of the league (Stafford going to be the Lions saviour?).

- Eric Wood was voted as the 2nd round pick by ROTB in our community mock draft. The Steelers round out the 2nd round by taking BPA Duke Robinson to fix their offensive line. (This is for the ROTB MOCK draft.)
