In what can only be classified as good news, Kent Somers is reporting that the Arizona Cardinals and Karlos Dansby's agent, Kirk Wood, had 'productive' talks today. While that's not overly significant news, it is the first time the two sides have had serious talks about agreeing to a long term extension. The two sides have until July 15th to agree to new deal but Rod Graves, Cardinals GM, acknowledged that negotiations will resume next week.
While the exact terms that the Dansby side is seeking are unknown, it's speculated that they're looking for upwards of $20 million guaranteed and it's possible that Bart Scott's contract with the Jets (six years for $48 million with $22 million guaranteed) will be a starting point.
