Arizona Cardinals' John Skelton keeping his cool for Sunday bout with Carolina Panthers
It's not that John Skelton is oblivious to circumstances and surroundings. It's that he doesn't seem capable of fretting about them. He was that way when he was 3 years old playing T-ball with 7-year-olds. And that was his attitude a couple of weeks ago, when Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt refused to name him the starter, even though the only other healthy quarterback on the roster, Richard Bartel, had been with the team for a day. "That was killing me," said Skelton's dad, John. "This guy (Bartel) hasn't taken a snap, doesn't know our system and he (Whisenhunt) can't come out and say John's the starter?" It was up to the younger Skelton to calm down the older one.

Mailbag: Can Rams conquer two divisions? - NFC West Blog - ESPN
Travis from parts unknown writes: Do you think Derek Anderson would be more effective if the Cardinals were better at the tight end position? When Anderson was effective, he had Kellen Winslow Jr. I looked at Ben Patrick's stats and he only has 15 receptions for the year, averaging just under 10 yards per catch. If you think those numbers stink, consider he has gone without a catch in six games this year. I was watching the news and Ken Whisenhunt was giving another "team responding to their QB" speech in reference to John Skelton and he was acting like nothing was wrong at the position. I warned you in early November that we would see Skelton. I really think the Cards are going to usher Whisenhunt out the door. He looks and talks like he's in another world.

If you watch the FOX broadcast of the Cardinals-Panthers game on Sunday, you will know what it feels like to be a lab rat. Sort of. FOX will play music during the game, an experiment that started last week during the broadcast of the Seahawks/49ers game. The initial reaction from fans apparently was negative, but FOX is continuing to test the concept. Isn't it a great time to be a fan of an NFC West team?

Arizona Cardinals Quarterback Picture: Who Could Lead Cards to Victory in 2011 | Bleacher Report
In the space of one season, the Arizona Cardinals have gone from being one of the premiere passing teams in the NFL, to one of the worst. Of course, few teams would stand to lose a future Hall of Fame quarterback like Kurt Warner, and Pro Bowl wide receiver, such as Anquan Boldin in one season and not be affected. And yet, the level to which the Cardinals have suffered has taken practically everyone by surprise.

Source: Denver Broncos to give quarterback Tim Tebow to get first NFL start - ESPN
The Denver Broncos will give rookie quarterback Tim Tebow his first NFL start Sunday at Oakland, a team source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter on Saturday. Tebow has taken most every snap this week in practice with starter Kyle Orton nursing bruised ribs. The Broncos' plan to start Tebow is based on his talents, the source said.

Five things to watch: Tim Tebow - NFL Nation Blog - ESPN
In his second game as Denver interim coach, Eric Studesville has decided to start rookie quarterback Tim Tebow at quarterback. McDaniels -- who was fired earlier this month -- shocked the NFL by trading three picks to take Tebow at No. 25. The former Florida star has only played in special packages. His last work as the base quarterback was in the preseason, when he improved throughout the schedule, but was still very raw. Tebow is getting the call because starter Kyle Orton has sore ribs. Tebow practiced with the first team much of the week. If he plays decently against the Raiders, he could get the nod in the team’s final two games of the season, both at home. Denver fans have been clamoring for Tebow in an attempt to salvage something in this 3-10 season. Here are five things to watch from Tebow on Sunday:
