Joe Haden | Cornerback | Florida

GM: We got another one. Spigadang was a no-show yesterday and I had to make his pick for him. For the last two selections, the GMs have not been able to make their picks(although pcock45 did eventually make it so no harm done). With that being said, anyone who's willing to make a last minute selection for a no-show will be greatly appreciated. If you want to pick just post a comment below, and if don't hear a response from a GM, then I will email you to make the pick.

Strengths: Haden will be the top cornerback coming out of the draft and if he falls to the 10th pick it should be considered a steal. He's a very physical corner and isn't afraid to make contract. He reads routes well and plays like a safety in zone coverage. Haden is a very good bump-and-run corner, mirroring receivers with very fluid hips and footwork. He won't shy away from bigger ball carriers and rarely misses a tackle. He's an all around team-first player.

Weaknesses: There aren't many negatives to Haden other then his size(5'11, 193 lbs), but most scouts feel he will be a true shutdown cornerback regardless. He worried some with his abysmal forty tim(4.57) at the combine but confirmed his speed at Florida's pro day(4.39).

Why the Jaguars will draft him: Obviously a pass-rusher is the first thought that comes to mind for the Jaguars, but with the signing of Aaron Kampman and the possible return of a healthy Reggie Hayward, the Jaguars would be reaching for a pass rushing specialist with the 10th pick. Ideally, they should trade down and gain a mid-round pick but since we can't, I went with BPA. The Jaguars don't have a shutdown corner and Haden could bring that within a couple years.
