The Playoffs begin tonight, I'll wind up missing the first game because I have damn Saturday afternoon classes, but I should be able to catch the second one. And was anyone else here depressed watching the Suns play last night? I know I was.
Arizona Cardinals' Ken Whisenhunt under pressure to choose correct defensive coordinator
If experience is the best teacher, Ken Whisenhunt should be getting pretty good at hiring defensive coordinators. On Thursday, Whisenhunt started searching for his third one since becoming the Cardinals' head coach in 2007.

What’s next for coaching staff
With the rest of the coaching staff getting a break for the next week or so, Whisenhunt is back in his office working on the future, which presumably includes the replacement for the fired Bill Davis at defensive coordinator. I’ve been asked many times already who it will be or who is in the mix. Right now, I don’t know. I am sure Whisenhunt has an idea what direction he’d like to go in — head coaches always have a fluid "who’s next" list — but as he said Thursday night, whether those guys would be available/interested is a different story. So that leave speculation. I have heard a lot of suggestions by the rank-and-file fans out there: John Fox, Eric Mangini, Packers LB coach Kevin Greene, Steelers LB coach Keith Butler (with whom Whisenhunt has had interest in the past). But I have not heard any suggestions from Whisenhunt, and in the end, there is always a wait-and-see for assistant coaches anyway, since it’s harder to get them away from other teams if they are already under contract.
New York Knicks rout Phoenix Suns 121-96 in Amar'e Stoudemire's return
Phoenix fans got a rare chance to see Suns basketball again Friday night. It took Amar'e Stoudemire, Mike D'Antoni and the New York Knicks to play at US Airways Center to remind the Valley what it used to feel like before these Suns became the franchise's worst team in seven years.
Steve Nash Fears 'Dark Hole' For Suns, While Marcin Gortat Apologizes To Fans - Desert Dirt - SB Nation Arizona
It was a bad loss by any account. Another bad loss, that is. The Phoenix Suns have now lost 11 of their last 14 games and just when you think things could at least be heading in the right direction, this game pops up that leaves the players bewildered and embarrassed for their own performance.
Cameron Forte leads McClintock boys basketball past rival Tempe
Cameron Forte picked up where he left off Tuesday when he set a Class 4A scoring record with 60 points against a senior-less and winless San Tan Valley Combs team. This time, he had his way against maybe the best Tempe High team in 10 years, scoring 28 of his 45 points in the first half of host Tempe McClintock's 74-59 victory Friday night in a Class 4A non-division boys basketball matchup featuring two of the state's most dynamic scorers.
