Arizona Cardinals Receive Prestigious Awards...But Not For Play On Field

No, there is no award to be given to an Arizona Cardinals player. However, that doesn't mean that everyone in the organization is doing a terrible job. In fact, the award is pretty prestigious. Cardinals broadcasting has won two Emmys in the Rocky Mountain Southwest Region. I know, it sounds sort of like it is an award they give to everyone, like all the "Who's Who" publications where people got in because of an invite and a payment.

But no, these are Emmys -- real awards.

Paul Calvisi, the Cardinals sideline reporter, won the Emmy for On-Camera Talent Sports -- Sports Reporter.

As annoying as he could be sometimes on the radio between the "Paul's Call" on KTAR and his midday show that got axed, he is in fact a solid guy in his job.

The other Emmy went to Cardinals Broadcasting, which includes Tim DeLaney, Jonathan Hayward, Bob Adlhoch and Martin Tarr. The Emmy was for their work with the Cardinals preseason broadcasts last season.

The Cardinals team was also nominated for three other Emmys.

If you would like to give individual congratulations, you can find a few of the guys on Twitter -- @cardsontheair, @badlhoch and @paulcalvisi.

As far as it goes...I'll take any success from the team at this point. Congrats to a bunch of professionals that are doing their job well.
