The Arizona Cardinals blew another 4th Quarter lead, losing to the New York Giants 31-27 in the 2nd home game of the season.
Hit the jump to see the (depressing) stats of a game dominated by RB Chris Beanie Wells, and another close game by the Cards.
27 rushes, 138 yards, 3 touchdowns.
No, that's not Adrian Peterson's stats for the day. And that's not Darren McFadden's either. It's the Cardinals own RB Beanie Wells. Beanie Wells dominated the game, leading both teams in touchdowns, and scoring all of the Cardinals TD's. Beanie Wells solidified his place as the #1 RB, and proved that as long as he's healthy, the Cardinals are set in the rushing game.
QB Kevin Kolb had a mediocre day, completing 20 of 34 passes for 237 yards, no TD's, an interception, and a Passer Rating of 67.9. WR Larry Fitzgerald had 8 receptions for 102 yards, and no TD's. (In case you're wondering, that's $8,000 towards cancer from Fitz. Some TD's wouldn't hurt the cause either)
The Cardinals time of possession was 31:59 vs. 28:01 for the Giants. The Cards also had 22 first downs, but were 3-12 on 3rd downs.
In the end, the Cardinals showed that they can at least stay competitive. They might've even come away with the game if it wasn't for a blown call by the ref's late in the 4th Quarter. A missed call on a fumble, and Eli Manning walked away undefeated in University of Phoenix Stadium.
There's always next week.
