NFL 'Expert' Picks Against The Spread, Week 8 Early Games

NFL Week 7 saw a push for our picks and and even-Stephen record of 6-6-1. On the season we are 43-41 against the spread in games we pick. Some of the games last weeks were downright terrible, but we were treated to the magic of Tim Tebow. Who doesn't love that?

As for Week 8, the early games are mostly expected blowouts. That means big point spreads. Usually this also means that the quality of game is not expected to be as good, especially after we all saw the New Orleans Saints destroy the Indianapolis Colts 62-7.

Indianapolis Colts at Tennessee Titans (-8.5): This is the attempted recovery game for both teams after suffering embarrassing defeats. The difference is that Tennessee is lead by the savvy veteran Matt Hasselbeck. The Colts have Curtis Painter. This will be the perfect opportunity for Chris Johnson to get back on track. After seeing th beatdown the Colts took, I don't think any line too big for their opponents. Pick: Titans -8.5.

New Orleans Saints (-13.5) at St. Louis Rams: I think we have seen this movie. The Saints are playing a winless team whose starting quarterback is. The ending isn't pretty. A.J. Feeley isn't going to inspire hope. The line could be 35. I'd still take the Saints. Pick: Saints -13.5.

Miami Dolphins at New York Giants (-10): The Dolphins even found a way for Tim Tebow to beat them. The Suck for Luck campaign is alive and well in Miami. Pick: Giants -10.

Minnesota Vikings at Carolina Panthers (-3.5): We get an all-rookie QB matchup with Cam Newton facing Christian Ponder. With Carolina getting a win against Washington, they should be able to take care of business while at home. Pick: Panthers -3.5.

Arizona Cardinals at Baltimore Ravens (-13): As bad as Arizona has played at times, the way the Ravens played against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday Night Football should raise some eyebrows with this line. However, the last time they lost to an AFC South team, they followed it up with a beatdown of an NFC West team. Even still, Joe Flacco has been inconsistent and the Cardinals defense bottled up Rashard Mendenhall. They can do the same to Ray Rice. Expect a closer game than you might think. Pick: Cardinals +13.

Jacksonville Jaguars at Houston Texans (-9.5): Jacksonville has been tough to predict, They made Baltimore look silly, but yet Maurice Jones-Drew fumbled how many times? However, the Jaguars have been able to keep games close. I just can't see them stopping Arian Foster and Matt SchaubPick: Texans -9.5.

Picks for the rest of the games on the Week 8 schedule will be up a little later.
