NFL 'Expert' Picks Against The Spread, Week 8 Afternoon, Sunday And Monday Night Games

The picks are in for the early games. The big point spreads are now mostly out of the way. With the exception of the San Francisco 49ers/Cleveland Browns game, all the games are expected to be within a touchdown. Again, if you want to make your picks against the spread and match wits with us here, you can join here (ID: 55411, PW: arizona).

Hit the jump to see who we have picked.

Washington Redskins at Buffalo Bills (-6.0): As long as John Beck is leading the Skins, I'm not trusting them. Plus, Buffalo has been more than okay this season, particularly at home. Pick: Buffalo -6.

Detroit Lions (-3) at Denver Broncos: This game didn't have a line until recently. For competitive reasons, it makes no sense. Yes, the Lions have lost two straight and Matthew Stafford might not be able to play on Sunday. However, it took Mr' Miracle Tim Tebow's calling for divine intervention to beat a winless Miami Dolphins team. He is going to be under a lot of pressure. If Shaun Hill ends up starting, you don't need to expect much of a dropoff in the offense. Hill put up some really gaudy numbers playing in Stafford's place a year ago. Pick: Detroit -3.

New England Patriots (-3) at Pittsburgh Steelers: Tom Brady will test the Steelers' number one passing defense, but that will not be the story. The real story will be the Patriots own terrible defense. Plus, Pittsburgh is starting to get players back from injuries. The home game and defense gives the Steelers the edge. Pick: Steelers +3.

Cleveland Browns at San Francisco 49ers (-8.5): As much as we hate to trust Alex Smith, he has been very efficient this season. We keep waiting for their fall, but after the bye that followed two very big wins, it might not happen. Plus, ESPN is predicting that they finish 14-2. This game will not be it and it shouldn't be close. Pick: 49ers -8.5.

Cincinnati Bengals (-3) at Seattle Seahawks: Cincy has been solid and Andy Dalton has been a pleasant surprise. However, we all know how much better Seattle plays at home and how hard it is for opposing offenses. We will see Dalton struggle more than usual. Pick: Seahawks +3.

Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles (-3.5): This classic NFC East battle is on Sunday night. Dallas seems to find weird things to happen to lose. Philly likes blowing leads. Michael Vick has not been as good. Philly struggles with the rush on defense. DeMarco Murray ran for a quarter-century last week for the Cowboys. Bad news. Pick: Cowboys +3.5.

San Diego Chargers (-3.5) at Kansas City Chiefs: This AFC West game could see the Chiefs in first place if they can win at home. San Diego's two losses are on the road. KC is on a three-game winning streak. Pick: Chiefs +3.5.
