Time for another Madden Sim, this week playing out the week ten matchup between the Cardinals and Eagles.
Again, I am using 15 minute quarters, the rosters are the most recent ones, and the game is played through the Super Sim mode.
Again, since it looks like Kevin Kolb won't be able to play I had Skelton as the starter, I also redid some of the depth charts so it fit how the Cardinals actually have theirs set up (Porter is still listed as the starter, moved Sam Acho over him).
Game Summary:
The Eagles are one of the most dangerous teams in Madden because of their speed (same with the Raiders), and this proved to be true again during this sim.
The Cardinals got on the board first with a 24 yard kick from Feely, but it was all Eagles after that. Philly closed out the first quarter with a 57 yard run by McCoy, and a 28 yard kick from Henry. In the second quarter they added three more rushing scores from McCoy from 37 and seven yards out with a 32 yard pick six from former Cardinal Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie sandwiched in between. Feely closed out the half by kicking a 33 yarder to make the score 6-31 in favor of the Eagles going into the break.
The second half was a little bit easier on the Cardinals. The scored first, with another kick from Feely, this one from 48 yards out. Then the Eagles finally got their new receiver Steve Smith involved in their offense with Vick throwing him a 49 yard Touchdown. The Cards also scored their first touchdown of the game off of an 11 yard run from Beanie to close out the third quarter down 16-38.
In the fourth, Henry added another kick, this one from 37 yards out to give Philly a forty burger, and the Cardinals closed out the game with a 14 yard pass from Skelton to Doucet.
This as a whole was just an ugly game, Skelton was picked off four times by the Dream Team secondary, showing what the Eagles fans were expecting when they added Nnamdi and DRC to their roster. Vick did have a poor game though completing less than 50% of his passes, and DeSean Jackson was shut down. The Cardinals completely forgot about LeSean McCoy though as he ran wild throughout the game accounting for over 200 total yards and three scores.
So, in the end, the Madden Cardinals lose again, this time 23-41 to the Eagles. Their record also drops to 4-5.
