After the Arizona Cardinals defeated the Philadelphia Eagles during a ferocious (ya, ferocious) 4th quarter comeback this past Sunday, John Skelton has now been nominated to win the ever-so prestigious award of the GMC Never Say Never Moment of the Week!
For his two big drives in the fourth quarter and the game winning TD with less than two mintues to go, Skelton has been placed among two other players as a possibility to win the honors. Let's take a look at the competition he is going up against and why he should still win.
The two other players that Skelton will face off against are Tim Tebow and William Gay. Tebow was able to complete his second pass of the day for a 56-yard touchdown to Eric Decker. I don't know about you, but anyone that struggled to finally complete their second pass of the day in the fourth quarter should not be nominated for anything outside of "worst QB in the league".
William Gay's play was also less than spectacular. He was able to step in front of a pass thrown by Andy Dalton to catch an interception, sealing the win for the Steelers. The play he made was about as easy as they come. Also, why wouldn't A.J. Jefferson be nominated as well? He made a timely interception that took more skill than the one Gay made.
Anyhow, Skelton obviously deserves this award over the other two, but Tebow might just get it due to his overwhelming popularity. But we can do something to help!
Go here to vote for Skelton and make sure to do so as many times as possible. There is no limit to the amount of times you can vote, so I expect each and every one of you to vote at a minimum of 25-30 times. The polling closes on Friday at 10:00 AM MST. Skelton deserves this award, so let's help him get it!
