Cardinals Vs. 49ers: The Game Played As A Madden Simulation

Time for another Madden Sim, this week playing out the week ten matchup between the Cardinals and 49ers.

Again, I am using 15 minute quarters, the rosters are the most recent ones, and the game is played through the Super Sim mode.

Again, Skelton gets the start, and a couple of depth chart fixes were made with the Cardinals roster so it was more like the one they use on gameday.

Game Summary:

The 49ers have been a much better team than they were expected to be this season. Now lets see if the Cardinals can knock them off their perch for at least one week.

Nobody scored in the first quarter, then the 49ers exploded for three touchdowns, with Alex Smith throwing a five yard pass to Bruce Miller for a score sandwiched between two scores from one yard out by Frank Gore. This gave the 49ers a 21-0 lead at the half.

The third quarter also started off strong for the Niners with a 40 yard bomb from Smith to Edwards for a score giving them a 28-0 lead. Then the Cardinals started to show some life with a 21 yard touchdown from Skelton to LaRod Stephens-Howling and A.J. Jefferson picking off Smith then bringing it back 31 yards for a score.

Going into the fourth, the Cards were down 28-14, but all they were able to add was a 25 yard kick from Feely and the 49ers were able to milk the clock to seal the win.

Just another bad game for the Madden Cards. While Skelton has played well in real life, Madden doesn't seem to like him much (almost every QB in these sims seems to struggle as well) because he wound up throwing five interceptions against one touchdown. If that happens on Sunday I don't think there will be a quarterback controversy anymore... The Cardinals defense did do a good job against Alex Smith who did have two scoring passes but he was held to 184 yards and picked off three more times which equaled the number he had thrown all season long prior to this game.

So, in the end, the Madden Cardinals lose again, this time 17-28 to the 49ers. Their record also drops to 4-6.
