Cardinals Vs. 49ers Final Injury Report: Kevin Kolb Unlikely To Play

New, comments

Friday was the last practice before the Arizona Cardinals head to San Francisco to play the 49ers on Sunday. For both the Cardinals and the Niners, injuries are coming into play a bit for the game. The biggest questions that there are for the Cardinals, regarding whether Kevin Kolb might be able to play, how Beanie Wells' knee is doing and if Todd Heap will finally play.

Find out who is on the final injury report after the jump.

For the Cardinals, the only two players listed as "out" are Joey Porter and Kerry Rhodes. The both are still recovering from surgical procedures.

Two players are listed as "probable" -- LB Stew Bradley and RB/KR LaRod Stephens-Howling.

Then there is a slew of players listed as "questionable." They include CB Michael Adams (hamstring), T Jeremy Bridges (back), TE Todd Heap (hamstring), TE Rob Housler (groin). T Brandon Keith (knee), QB Kevin Kolb (toe, foot), LB Paris Lenon (groin), FB Anthony Sherman (ankle) and RB Beanie Wells (knee).

As for Beanie, Ken Whisenhunt seemed confident that he will play. He said that Beanie is "good to go" on Sunday. While no announcement has been made, as Kolb was not able to fully practice yet, it would be surprising if John Skelton doesn't get the start.

Todd Heap's situation is still uncertain, but Housler might be able to play. Whisenhunt said "he is very close." Whether that means he will be available on Sunday is yet to be determined.

Sherman played some last week and Lenon is hard to get off the field. With both Bridges and Keith listed on the injury report, the right tackle position could get interesting, as would the overall OL depth. However, Darren Urban believes that both linemen will be available and able to play.

For San Francisco, their list is much shorter and the injuries are not as much of an issue. WR Michael Crabtree, CB Chris Cullver, WR Braylon Edwards, LB NaVorro Bowman and CB Shontae Spencer are probable.

There are no players listed as "out" for Sunday and there are only three listed as "questionable." They are RB Frank Gore (knee), DT Ray McDonald (hamstring) and CB Tarell Brown

Gore will play and on Thursday said that he is going to play  on Sunday and "play good."

Brown is one of their starting corners and was added to the injury report on Friday. If he is unable to go, Shontae Spencer will likely get the start, even though he has been inactive a lot recently. Sounds like John Skelton will have someone to pick on if he can take advantage of it.

We are just a day away from the big battle. Hopefully both teams can get healthy and stay healthy at the games.
