The Arizona Cardinals are in San Francisco to play the 49ers and attempt to extend their current winning streak to three games. They will do so without two of the team's marquee offseason acquisitions -- quarterback Kevin Kolb and tight end Todd Heap. John Skelton will start in Kolb's place for the third game in a row, but it was no surprise. Todd Heap has struggled the past few weeks with a hamstring injury. Both are on the inactive list for today's game.
For the 49ers, running back Frank Gore will play, as he promised. He also promised that he would "play good."

For the Cardinals, in addition to Kolb and Heap, the other inactives are TE Rob Housler, T D'Anthony Batiste, WR Stephen Williams, S Kerry Rhodes and LB Joey Porter.
The list should surprise no one.
The absence of Housler in addition to Heap affects the passing game, as they both have been used in four receiver sets. It means that Chansi Stuckey will instead that fourth spot on the field. It also leaves no room for injuries to either Jeff King or Jim Dray, or they will have to completely abandon the two TE sets.
For the 49ers, S Madieu Williams, DT Ian Williams, QB Scott Tolzien, WR Brett Swain, G Mike Person, FB Moran Norris and G Daniel Kilgore are all inactive.
