Cardinals Vs. Browns: The Game Played As A Madden Simulation

Time for another Madden Sim, this week playing out the week fifteen matchup between the Cardinals and Browns.

Again, I am using 15 minute quarters, the rosters are the most recent ones, and the game is played through the Super Sim mode.

The only change I made to the rosters this week was making Seneca Wallace the starter for Cleveland since that has been confirmed for this week and McCoy is still listed as the starter in Madden. Skelton is starting in here this week as well because it seems like Kolb will miss the game as a precaution so he will be ready for the Bengals next week.

Game Summary:

Seneca Wallace has been in Arizona before during his time with the Seahawks. Now lets see how he does in the desert as a member of the Browns.

It became pretty evident early on in this game that it would be a defensive struggle. The Browns got on the board first for the only points in the first quarter with a 43 yard boot from Dawson, they also scored on a 42 yard pass from Wallace to Cribbs to go up 10-0 entering the half.

Then in the third quarter the Cards started to come back, The Hyphen got it started by bringing the opening kickoff of the half back for a 99 yard score, and a 36 yard kick by Feely was added to tie it at 10-10 going into the fourth quarter. Neither team was able to score the clinching points or really get anything going on offense. So we on to overtime in Arizona.

The Browns got the ball first, and they drove down the field and got on the board with a 34 yard kick. Then the Cardinals got the ball because of the Overtime rules in Madden giving the other team a chance to score if the first one scores a field goal (The playoff rules, not sure if they were expanded into the regular season in real life yet) and they were able to do nothing, thus the game ended and the Browns won.

My quick impressions from this game? Madden still hates John Skelton's accuracy in these sims even though he received a boost to his ratings this week. As a whole, the quarterbacks struggled today and the defenses dominated the day. It also says a lot that the only Touchdown the Cardinals scored was on a kick return.

So, in the end, the Madden Cardinals lose 10-13 to the Browns. Their record also drops down to 5-9.
