2011 ROTB NFL Mock Draft: Bengals Make Selection, Cardinals Up Next

New, comments

Four picks are now in the books and our Arizona Cardinals are up next. At least for the first three selections, things are looking good for Arizona to get community favorite Von Miller. The big question is whether or not the Bengals go for a quarterback (the community draft has both Cam Newton and Blaine Gabbert available, while the writer draft has only Newton), frequent mock draft selection receiver A.J. Green or a defensive player.

The GMs for today were Badblood54 and RedBirdRevival. Their selections com after the jump. Interestingly enough, their picks were both the same Who shall it be?

In the meantime, the Cardinals are now on the clock. Billydacardsfan and Skii, you are up. Email me your picks and explanations by 11PM AZ time tonight. Note that the community member cannot draft a player previously drafted by the community and the same for the writers, but you cannot draft a player drafted by a previous writer.

Leave comments about what you think of the picks and why. Whom would you have selected? Good picks or bad picks?

Badblood54:

A.J. Green, WR, Georgia

For my pick as the Bengals I choose WR AJ Green. The fact that Terrel Owens is leaving and that Chad does not want to be a part of this franchise is why. Although Chad Ochocinco or Johnson (whatever you want to call it) is forced to stay, he can help Green learn the game speed in the NFL, help him mature and tutor him. Whoever is behind center, they will have an easier time with this vertical threat.

RedBirdRevival:

A.J. Green, WR, Georgia

With Chad Ochocinco/Johnson and Terrell Owens both probably leaving town, the Bengals are going to need a new top receiver to lead their young corps alongside Jordan Shipley. With the fourth pick in the draft, I am taking AJ Green. Green is a crisp route runner, a big receiver and he catches the ball in tight spaces. He elevates over opposing corners and safeties to snatch the ball out of the air, which greatly reminds me of Larry Fitzgerald of the Arizona Cardinals. Maybe Carson Palmer would be willing to stay with the circus that is "T. Ocho" leaving and a new young star like Green coming in.
