2011 NFL Draft: Ken Whisenhunt To Be Present At Auburn Pro Day, Watch Cam Newton

Today is Pro Day for the Auburn Tigers that are in the 2011 NFL Draft. The most notable names that will work out for NFL teams are quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Cam Newton and defensive tackle Nick Fairley. We have a lot of mixed feelings about am Newton here at RotB and, well, as for Nick Fairley, most believe that he isn't a fit in the Cardinals 3-4 system, especially with Dan Williams already occupying the nose tackle position.

It wouldn't be news to hear about staff from the Cardinals being there for Pro Day. They obviously want to evaluate the talent of these marquee players. What the surprise is for today is that Ken Whisenhunt himself is there for the workouts.

Whisenhunt is not one to show his hand often. He has said nothing about the draft and who the team is interested in. Most speculate that he would not want to deal with the project that Newton is expected to be. But his presence there tells us he is at least intrigued or is interested in doing his homework.

Something notable is the fact that Arkansas is having their Pro Day today as well. What does this mean? It means that Whisenhunt is choosing to see Newton over Ryan Mallett.

What do you think this means? Is he really considering drafting Cam Newton? Is he there just to do his homework, or is it to look at the other players? Why would he not see Mallett on his Pro Day?
