2011 ROTB Mock Draft: Defensive Line Help For St. Louis Rams

Getty Images

The ROTB mock draft continues and the theme continues to be the defense. The community pick is a third consecutive defensive end. In 14 picks, the community has chosen 10 players on defense and the writers have chosen nine.

The St. Louis Rams make their pick. Skii picks for the writers and I had to pick for the community as the community pick never came in.

Tomorrow are the Miami DolphinsAlaskancard and I are the GMs that are now on the clock. Email me your picks and explanations by 11PM AZ time tonight. You know the rules -- no trades, no drafting guys that have been drafted.

Remember that what makes this even better is healthy debate. Put in your two cents.

Community pick:

Cameron Jordan, DE, California

The elite receivers are off the board, but the Rams have needs elsewhere. They could use help on the offensive and defensive lines. As the team stands, it was a game from the playoffs. Defensive help could put them over the top. The Rams pick the third DE in a row, going with Cal's Cameron Jordan. He is quick and powerful, although the quickest. But he is strong. He is a power rusher with more than just power moves. He is strong against the run and can get to the quarterback. A solid choice for a young Rams team.

Skii:

Aldon Smith, DE, Missouri

The Rams have two big needs: WR and DE. Since both A.J. Green and Julio Jones are gone, they'll turn to the second one (DE). Aldon Smith will provide the rushing speed the Rams have needed for a long time. Plus, he'll compliment Chris Long nicely. So while the Rams don't get a WR for Sam Bradford to throw to, they still fill one of their big needs with this pick.
