2010 Rewind: Raiders Kicker Gift Wraps A Victory For The Cardinals

It was Week 3 of the 2010 NFL season. The Cardinals led 24-23. The Oakland Raiders had just marched down the field and put themselves into position to kick a field goal to win the game. It was going to be a game ending loss for the Cardinals, and it was going to happen in front the Cardinal faithful. Sebastian Janikowski came in with four seconds left to kick the final score.

I think we probably remember what happened next. Hit the jump to see the fateful loss for the Raiders.

I did not see the end of the game. I heard the end in my car. I was headed over to visit a friend. I couldn't believe it. Even average kickers don't miss 32-yard field goals.  This time, Sebastian Janikowski misses the attempt wide left.

The win at the time put the Cardinals at 2-1. There were a lot of question marks for the team even then. However, with that win, I felt that karma was smiling on the team, and that things were going to be all right.

Of course it was fool's gold. But I am an optimist by nature, so I was happy the picked up the victory. At the time I still though that the Cards had the best shot of winning the NFC West.

Was I the only one that thought that the team still had a little hope? I'd like to know what your thought process was.
