Wide receiver Plaxico Burress is being released from prison on Monday and will be an unrestricted free agent. The latest reports coming out of the media and from good friend Brandon Jacobs are saying that Burress will not be a New York Giant in 2011. The team most often connected to him is the Philadelphia Eagles, where he could team up with another player who came back from prison to be a star -- Mike Vick.
In case you were wondering if the Arizona Cardinals would give him a look, you don't have to worry. John Gambadoro from KTAR reported via Twitter that the Cardinals "will not have any interest" in Burress.
This is understandable. The team already has Larry Fitzgerald. They tendered Steve Breaston, although that might not matter in a new CBA and he may become an unrestricted free agent. Then there is Andre Roberts, Stephen Williams, Max Komar, Early Doucet and new draftee DeMarco Sampson. There is some question as to the depth, but at no time did the Cardinals seem to be interested in going for another big name receiver.
Plax has also been connected to the St. Louis Rams as well. I'm thinking Philly is a good place. Bradford and Burress would not be fun to pay against twice a year.
