NFL Free Agent Offensive Linemen Starting To Come Off Of The Board

One of the greatest needs of the Arizona Cardinals this offseason is upgrading the offensive line, or at least retaining the players that are leaving. Alan Faneca retired, leaving Rex Hadnot as the likely replacement for him at left guard. Lyle Sendlein and Deuce Lutui are free agents. The Arizona Cardinals have been in contact with both Lutui and Sendlein, but nothing has been reported.

I do know, through an actual source of mine, that one team interested in Lutui is the Oakland Raiders, who are seeking to replace Robert Gallery.

However, for those of us that were hoping for somewhat of a splash in free agency on the offensive line, there is alittle disappointment to be had.

Some of the biggest names are already off the board.

The biggest fish was not really available, that being Logan Mankins. He is being franchised and will sign the tender.

Here are some of the other moves that take good linemen away from the pool:

Doug Free is re-signing with the Dallas Cowboys, agreeing to a four-year $32 million dollar deal.

Marshal Yanda re-signs with the Baltimore Ravens for a deal thought to be about five years, $32 million.

Tyson Clabo will re-sign with the Atlanta Falcons.

Obviously, there are others out there, but they are starting to go.

However, we should not expect a move to sign a tackle, unless it is to be a backup. Levi Brown isn't going anywhere and Brandon Keith won't either with his second-round tender. Jeremy Bridges is also under contract.

The only possible splash will be on the interior of the line. We will see if any announced agreements will be anything close to a splash or more like a ripple.
