NFL Free Agents: Arizona Cardinals Lose Out On One Cornerback, Bring One Back

Thursday saw the Arizona Cardinals trade away a cornerback, lose out on a free agent cornerback and bring one back. We know that Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie was dealt to the Philadelphia Eagles for quarterback Kevin Kolb. While no reports had the Cardinals connected to him, Johnathan Joseph is no longer available as he agreed to a contract with the Houston Texans. Lastly, Michael Adams seems to be returning to the Cardinals in 2011, despite not having been offered a restricted free agent tender.

How do we know this? Because of this tweet:

Adams is a reliable and important special teams player and a reliable tackler, but was not so great in coverage in 2010. As of right now, he would be the third corner on the depth chart, behind Greg Toler and Patrick Peterson

Statistically, we are hoping to see the Cards land another corner who could possibly even start, pushing Peterson to the nickel position to start and Adams to special teams alone and out of coverage.
