Time for some more links as we await the news on the first roster cuts. Haven't heard anything about Greg Tolers injury yet.

I will also start trying to use more stories from the SBN main page because the mothership needs more traffic than it already gets.

Tossing an 80-yard touchdown pass to receiver Larry Fitzgerald is fun, but for pure satisfaction, Cardinals quarterback Kevin Kolb prefers the scoring drive that covered about eight minutes Saturday night against the Chargers. On that possession, the Cardinals displayed a diversity of threats.

Chester Taylor to be released, possible fit for Cardinals? -
The Arizona Cardinals said they'd wait. In need of a running back once Ryan Williams was lost for the season, coach Ken Whisenhunt said the team would be patient in their search for a replacement. Perhaps the time has come to make a move.

Diamondbacks sweep Padres with sixth straight win
The question was straightforward. Kirk Gibson couldn't help but laugh at it anyway. Where would the Diamondbacks be this season without Ian Kennedy? Without flinching, Gibson smiled, chuckled and said, "I don't know. You tell me." Well, they probably wouldn't be in first place in the National League West, four games up on the San Francisco Giants. That's where they are today after another stellar outing by their ace right-hander, as Kennedy helped pitch the Diamondbacks to a 6-1 victory and series sweep of the Padres on Sunday at Chase Field.

Candice Dupree, Diana Taurasi lead Phoenix Mercury past Washington Mystics
The Phoenix Mercury' strong start helped them avoid matching a season-high losing skid. The Washington Mystics' late comeback attempt wasn't enough to end their struggles. Candice Dupree scored a season-high 27 points and Diana Taurasi finished with 21 points as the Mercury snapped a two-game losing streak with an 86-79 win over the Mystics on Sunday.

NFL News:

Peyton Manning Activated From PUP List, Can Start Practicing -
Peyton Manning still might not be ready to start in the Indianapolis Colts' regular season opener against the Houston Texans, but at least he's getting back to practice. The Colts activated him from the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list on Monday and he will be allowed to start practicing on a limited basis immediately.
