Pro Football Focus, if you don't know, provides a ton of great stats and grades. They do solid analysis and rate players' performances each week. In their All-PFF team, the recognize the players with the highest rating at their position for the week. Already Clark Haggans and Daryl Washington made this list in Week 1 for their performance against the Carolina Panthers.
This week, despite the loss to the Seattle Seahawks, one Cardinals defensive player makes it on the list, but it isn't Calais Campbell.
Campbell had as fine a game as you will ever see from a defensive lineman. He had 2.5 sacks (a career high), a QB hit, and 10 tackes (5 solo). But he didn't make the list, despite a +4.2 rating for the week.
Instead, the recognition goes to Adrian Wilson. He was rated at +2.2 for the game.
While Wilson didn't do anything overly flashy, he did break up a pass with a near diving interception and came up to support in run defense better than a number of his linebacker colleagues.
I can't really argue that, but how Campbell didn't get on the list is beyond me. Campbell is only credited for five tackles on PFF. His grade/rating is below Ray McDonald of the 49ers, Jay Ratliff of the Cowboys and Randy Starks of the Dolphins.
Let's look at the stat line for CC and the other guys.
He had a hit and three pressures, as well.
He also had three QB pressures.
I know the grading is a hard, but I don't known how you don't get recognized by for a stat line like that.
What do you think? Was Campbell robbed?
