Saints Vs 49ers Playoff Open Thread

The playoffs continue with Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints travel to California to play the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional round. This game is where an unstoppable force meets an immovable object. The unstoppable force would be the Saints offense, which has been putting up points in gobs. Brees set a record in passing yards this season and threw for over 40 TDs.

The immovable object is the San Francisco defense, tops in the NFC. They are built to be able to beat the Saints. They create turnovers, the run the ball well and shorten the game and they don't make mistakes. Where they struggle is punching the ball in the endzone for touchdowns when in the red zone. It will take a near perfect game to beat New Orleans, but they will not have the raucous atmosphere of the Superdome.

While you watch the game and root against SF (that is the case for most of us, I imagine), jump in and discuss the game.
