As we all prepare for the 2012 NFL Draft, the 2012 Senior Bowl is the next big milestone in the countdown to the draft. The Arizona Cardinals will have staff on hand to watch practices, talk to players and coaches and of course observe potential draftees. Many know that the Cardinals have a great need to add youth and talent to the offensive line and one potential first round prospect at offensive tackle is Mike Adams from Ohio State.
The game itself is still a few days away, but Adams is apparently already rising his draft stock
After practice today, Wesley Bunting from National Football Post tweeted a few observations, including this:
Day one winners from the North Practice at SeniorBowl are... 1. #OhioState OT Mike Adams, looks like a future #NFL left tackle #NFLDRAFT
Tuesday morning, Bunting also explained his observations further in his Senior Bowl notes.
Ohio State OT Mike Adams has a real presence about him. He's a big kid with a long set of arms and when he shoots his hands inside on contact, he has the ability to control blocks and slide his feet through the play. However, the only time he gets himself into trouble is when he doesn't extend his arms and looks to catch opposing lineman at the point. Nevertheless, the talent is there for this guy to be a top-20 pick.
Adams was profiled on this site on Monday and our draft profiler, khodder, is a big fan. While he does not see Adams as being left tackle material, he does feel that he would be a great selection for the Arizona Cardinals and would fit in well at right tackle for years.
With the Senior Bowl being played this Saturday, Adams just might be a guy to keep an eye out for.
