Freshman point guard Josiah Turner, the player newly identified by UA coach Sean Miller as perhaps the team's best go-to prospect at the end of a close game, had the ball with the Wildcats down by two and seconds to go. He drove inside for nearly a clean look at the basket just before the buzzer sounded. Then Washington's explosive Tony Wroten Jr. lept up, swatted Turner's shot away, and the Huskies held on to a 69-67 win.

ASU's first-half of the Pac-12 season was a disaster. It included suspensions, dismissals and an injury to its best player. Fittingly, the Sun Devils closed it out in a fashion few expected. Carrick Felix scored 20 points and the Sun Devils moved the ball as well as they have all season in Saturday's 71-67 win over Washington State in front of 6,224 fans at Wells Fargo Arena.
