I incorrectly picked the straight up winner of the Thursday night game, but against the spread, the Tampa Bay pick was gold. Now here are the early Sunday games and my picks using Bovada.lv and their listed point spreads.
New England Patriots (-7) at St. Louis Rams (in London): This game is clear. Tom Brady and company are more experienced in the league. The Rams don't travel particularly well. Even with a stronger defense, no way New England falls to 0-3 on the season against the NFC West. Pick: Pats, -7.
Indianapolis Colts at Tennessee Titans (-3.5): The Titans have been playing better. Once again it is the case of the rookie on the road. It generally is not good to lean that way. Luck will get better, but not on Sunday. Pick: Titans -3.5.
Jacksonville Jaguars at Green Bay Packers (-15): This is almost unfair. Even with injuries to the Packers, the Jags are without Maurice Jones-Drew. What can they do? Pick: Packers, -15.
San Diego Chargers (-3) at Cleveland Browns: Even though the Browns are seeing improvement from Brandon Weeden and the Chargers have been wildly disappointing, look for Philip Rivers to have a bounce back game. Pick: Chargers, -3.
Atlanta Falcons at Philadelphia Eagles (-3): This is the week that the late-game heroics for the Falcons doesn't happen. Philly gets well and gets the win. Pick: Eagles, -3.
Seattle Seahawks at Detroit Lions (-1): Seattle QB Russell Wilson struggles more on the road and Matthew Stafford, despite struggles, has been very good late in games when it counts. Pick: Lions, -1
Miami Dolphins at New York Jets (-1): Miami gets to attempt to avenge the awful loss they suffered by the hands of the Jets. But the Jets are playing well, and I have to go with them. Pick: Jets, -1.
Carolina Panthers at Chicago Bears (-9): The Bears look oddly elite with the the defense that they have. The Panthers aren't having a good year. The Bears like to cause turnovers. Easy pick: Bears -9.
Washington Redskins at Pittsburgh Steelers (-3.5): RGIII, meet the Steelers defense. Pick: Steelers, -3.5.
