2012 NFL picks against the spread: Saints, Cowboys are underdog picks of late games

There aren't many late games in Week 8. There are only two 4PM EST games and then the the Sunday night game. But two of the three games after 1PM are high interest games. The Giants hope to avenge a season opening loss and the Saints take their circus to the Broncos' Peyton Manning circus.

Here are our against the spread picks, using bovada.lv for lines, except for the Saints/Broncos games, which is oddsshark.com

Oakland Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs (-1): This is not exactly a confident pick, but then again, the line tells you that. The only edge to go with is the Chiefs because they are at home. Pick: Chiefs, -1.

New York Giants (-2) at Dallas Cowboys: The Cowboys lost their leading tackler for the season. They have not beaten the Giants at home since the new stadium opened. Plus, the Giants want to get back at the Cowboys for beating them in the season opener. Even still, I like the home dogs in the Cowboys. They will play inexplicably well. Pick: Cowboys, taking the two points.

New Orleans Saints at Denver Broncos (-4.5): On Bovada, there is no line, but Oddsshark.com has the home team as a 4.5 point favorite. Denver looks like it could be on the cusp of becoming the top team in the AFC, but their defense is still a little suspect. Expect Drew Brees to have fun against that defense. On the other side of the ball, it has the making of a shootout. However, I like the road team. Pick: Saints, -4.5.
