So, Thursday's game was a disaster and following a 7-8 week against the spread, maybe you want to question my picks. That's fine. I would understand. But here are the early games for Sunday and how I would go if I were going to place a wager.
Atlanta Falcons (-3) at Washington Redskins: The Falcons are rolling and the Redskins have been playing tough games. Atlanta's defense is not stellar, but it will be good enough. Expect a very good game from Matt Ryan and an Atlanta clinic. Pick: Falcons, -3.
Philadelphia Eagles at Pittsburgh Steelers (-3.5): Philly is on the road to face a Steelers team that has been banged up defensively. Philly has also been quite good in close games. Philly is built to defend the pass with its pass rush and corners, while Ben Roethlisberger now leads an offense that is pass-first. This is an underdog pick: Philly, +3.5, but I expect a straight up win for Philly.
Green Bay Packers (-7) at Indianapolis Colts: Aaron Rodgers vs. Andrew Luck will likely become a great matchup. It just is not yet there. Green Bay is going to build off of the win over the Saints. Pick: Packers, -7.
Cleveland Browns at New York Giants (-9): Cleveland likes close games. New York likes to lose games every season that they have no business losing. As such, this game falls into that category. I'm not saying that they will lose, but it will not be a runaway. Take the points. Pick: Browns, +9.
Miami Dolphins at Cincinnati Bengals (-4): Miami has had some crushing losses. Andy Dalton is playing even better than a season ago, and Miami struggles defending the pass. After Ryan Tannehill put up his huge numbers against Arizona, expect to see Cincy make adjustments. Tannehhill likely will not do that again this season. Pick: Bengals, -4.
Baltimore Ravens (-6) at Kansas City Chiefs: While the Chiefs are due, don't expect them to be able to keep up offensively with Joe Flacco and the Ravens. Pick: Ravens, -6.
